I really enjoy your column which is printed in the Worcester Telegram.
I have a Windows 10 question. Years ago, when I upgraded from XP to Windows 7, I used a Microsoft utility, Easy Transfer, that is built into both systems. First, run Easy Transfer (and, of course, store the results on an external drive that will ‘plug and play’ once the new OS has been installed). Then, after installing the new OS, run Easy Transfer again to restore your old desktop and all of your files. Since then, I preiodically run Easy Transfer as a way of creating secure backups of my Windows 7 computers.
So, here is my question. Since, as far as I know, a utility equivalent to Easy Transfer has not been included in Windows 10, would you be able to recommend software/procedures to accomplish the same thing with Windows 10?
First, are you upgrading a Windows 7 computer to Windows 10? (If so, all your files and programs will still be there when you move up to Windows 10.) Or do you have a brand new computer and want to transfer files from an old one?
